What it costs

You only pay when you get paid.

No joining fee, no monthly fee, and nothing at all for the scheduling and earnings tools. One percentage, taken from bookings that actually happen.

10% For your first 60 days Our launch offer, set on your account the day you join.
15% After that Of the booking total, service and travel together.
100% Of every tip We take nothing from a tip. Not a percentage, not a fee.

One honest note. There is a minimum of $0.55 per booking, so a very small job still covers what the card processing costs us. On anything a real appointment is worth, the percentage is what applies and the minimum never comes into it. We would rather you read that here than find it in an earnings breakdown.

Being found

Get found by new customers.

On a salon booking platform you are one chair among every chair in the city. Doorcut is the one place people come specifically looking for somebody who will travel to them — including the customers nobody else is really serving: older people, anyone who cannot easily get out, parents who are not leaving the house today.

You show up in browse and search

Customers browsing your categories, or searching for a service by name, see your page — provided they are inside the area you have said you will travel to. You set that distance, and you can change it whenever you like.

They can keep you

Somebody who likes your work can save you to their favourites and come back to you directly next time, instead of starting from the browse list again.

Your reviews stay with you

Only a customer whose appointment actually happened can leave one, so there is no way to fake them and a good profile is worth something. It builds up on your page over time.

Where we actually are. We are opening in Toronto now, and building the customer side alongside the provider side. So this is an opportunity rather than a promise, and nobody should join expecting a full diary in the first week. What joining early gets you is the promotional rate, a head start on reviews, and first pick of a market we are building together.

If they let you down

No-shows are charged, not just apologised for.

The customer's card is authorised the moment they book, so the money is already held before you set off. If they cancel late or leave you standing at the door, the fee comes out of that hold.

You mark yourself on the way and then arrived, and the app keeps the time of each. That record is what makes a no-show claim stand up.

Cancelled late

Cancelling inside 24 hours of the appointment charges a cancellation fee. Beyond 24 hours the hold is released and nobody pays anything.

Nobody answers

You mark that you have arrived, wait fifteen minutes, and can then close it out as a no-show. It is recorded with the time and where you were, so it holds up if it is ever questioned.

Cancelled once you set off

Cancelling after you are on the way is treated exactly like a no-show, because the slot is gone and the journey is spent either way.

The customer is warned about the fee and the deadline the day before, and told the exact amount before they confirm. Our percentage applies to a cancellation fee the same as any other booking, and a customer can dispute one with us rather than with you.

Your own booking link

One link for your Instagram bio.

You choose the name. Tapping it on a phone opens your page straight in the app, with your services, your prices and your next free slots already there. Put it in your bio, print it on a card, read it out on the phone.

If you ever change the name, the old one keeps working and nobody else can take it — a card you handed out last year still finds you.

Your calendar

Set your hours once. It handles the rest.

Tell Doorcut which hours you work each week and how much travel time you need between appointments, and customers can only ever book a slot that genuinely works. Block out a whole day, or just the hours you are busy on a job somewhere else.

You decide how much notice you need, and whether requests come to you to accept or confirm themselves automatically.

Your money

Paid into your own account, never held by us.

When you mark a job complete, the card is charged and the money goes into your own Stripe account. We never hold it and release it later. Tips land the same way, whole.

Stripe then pays it out to your bank, about a week after the appointment. Every booking shows what the service came to, what we took, and what is on its way to you — no invoices to chase and nothing to add up at the end of the week.

Yours to run

It is your business. We are the booking system.

Your prices

You list your own services and set every price. Nobody discounts your work for you.

Your hours

Work the days and hours you choose. Change them whenever you like, and block out time you need back.

Your travel area

Set how far from your base you are willing to go. Anyone outside it never reaches your calendar.

Five things people book

  • Barber
  • Nails
  • Makeup
  • Lashes & Brows

Pick as many as you do. Somebody who cuts hair and does bridal makeup shows up in both.

What happens next

A conversation first, not a sign-up form.

We are recruiting the first providers by hand, one at a time. Send the form below and I will get in touch personally.

  1. We talk

A phone call or a coffee. What you do, where you work, whether this is any use to you.

  2. You get set up

We build your page together — services, prices, photos of your work. Stripe collects your bank and ID details directly; they never pass through us.

  3. A person approves you

Every provider is checked and approved by a human before they can take a booking. It is slower, and it is the reason a customer will let you through their front door.

  4. You get your link

Your booking page goes live at doorcut.app/yourname, ready for your bio before we open to the public.
