Doorcut
Terms of Service
Last updated 31 August 2026
Doorcut is an app for booking mobile hair stylists, barbers, nail technicians, makeup artists and lash and brow specialists who travel to you. These terms cover using it. They are written plainly on purpose.
What Doorcut is, and is not
Doorcut is a marketplace. The service you book is provided by an independent professional, not by Doorcut. They set their own prices, hours, travel area and standards of work. We handle the booking, the payment and the messaging between you.
Your account
You sign in with your phone number or your email address, and we send a one-time code to confirm it is you. Keep your access to that phone or inbox secure, and give us accurate details — a provider is travelling to the address you enter.
Text messages
When you sign in with a phone number, we text you a verification code. Message and data rates may apply. This is a one-time code sent at your request; it is not marketing, and we do not sell or share your number with anyone for marketing.
If you book on somebody else’s behalf, we text that person about the appointment: a confirmation, a reminder the day before, a message when the provider sets off, and one when they arrive. You confirm at the time of booking that they have agreed to receive those texts. They can reply STOP at any time to stop them, or HELP for help.
Booking, payment and cancellation
When you book, we place a hold on your card for the amount shown, and take it once the appointment is complete. If the appointment is far enough away that the hold would expire first, we replace it with a fresh one before the appointment.
Cancelling well in advance is free. Cancelling close to the appointment, or not being there when the provider arrives, may mean a cancellation fee. The exact amount and the deadline are shown to you before you confirm a booking, again in your reminder, and again before any fee is charged. Cancelling within 30 minutes of booking is always free.
A tip is voluntary, and 100% of it goes to your provider. Tips are not refundable.
If something goes wrong
Contact us at support@doorcut.app. We can review a cancellation fee or a no-show and reverse it where it was applied wrongly.
Providers
If you take bookings through Doorcut, you are an independent business and not an employee of Doorcut. You are responsible for your own work, your own insurance, your own licences, and your own taxes — including charging and remitting tax where you are registered to. Doorcut takes a commission on the bookings you complete through it, at the rate shown in your account, and pays out the rest to your connected Stripe account.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed, and material changes will be brought to your attention in the app.
